Information PaceBar accesses
PaceBar accesses your Codex account status and rate-limit information through the open-source Codex app-server helper included in the Mac App Store app. This is used only to display your remaining allowance, usage pace, reset time, credit balance, reset-credit count, and projected limit.
Information we collect
We do not operate an analytics or account backend for PaceBar. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your Codex usage information, prompts, conversations, identity, or device identifiers.
Local storage and authentication
Authentication data is managed locally by the bundled Codex helper inside PaceBar's macOS sandbox. PaceBar does not receive or store your password.
PaceBar stores a minimal local history of credit-balance values and timestamps to estimate when credits may be depleted. It also stores interface preferences and notification-threshold state. This local data contains no authentication token and is not transmitted by PaceBar.
Network access
The bundled Codex helper communicates directly with OpenAI for the official sign-in flow and read-only account rate-limit information. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by OpenAI's terms and privacy policy. PaceBar does not send this information to a PaceBar-owned server.
PaceBar optionally requests an unofficial public forecast score from Will Codex Reset. No Codex account information, credit balance, quota value, or authentication data is sent with this request. As with any internet request, that service may receive routine network information such as an IP address.
Children's privacy
PaceBar is a developer utility and is not directed to children. Because we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If PaceBar's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the corresponding app release.
